Data in the ram sometimes doesn't stick when you reopen GG. Version 8.1.7

It happens if gg crashes with out of memory and it is desired behaviour.

Doesn't seem like I'm out of memory. It just starts writing to sdcard even when I have it set to Yes. I have 3gb of ram.

If the demon was killed with SIGKILL and has enabled the storage of data in memory - it is reset.
If the memory increases dramatically the number of errors when accessing memory, the program will begin using the drive. This is done in order to prevent crashes, since there is no precise way to determine out of memory state.

This behavior is planned.

An example of changing the code of the game (Asphalt 8: Airborne)
There is nothing special. The code numbers game has concluded with a string "%d". With the search of the code, I it is replaced with "%%", which leads to a % sign, instead of a number.
This is just an example showing the possibility - practical sense it does not.
If you know that on that patch, then the possibilities are limitless. But the cost of failure is very high - the wrong patch could break off or your data.
That is why it is written next to these regions "(dangerous)".
