This message not connected with root. It can appear only on bad firmwares with disabled Instrumentation.

We once have same issue on this forum. Now we detect it.

May be in future we can bypass this issue. We have this in tasks.

LOL. You need text?

Failed start Instrumentation. To properly run this application on your firmware, you need to allow start Instrumentation in system settings for this application. For more information, look at the manual of your firmware/ROM, on special forums, or in a Google search.

Any workarounds or fixes that could help me make it work now?

Rooted Oneplus 3 running marshmallow. Error encountered on GG 8.7.0

Need logcat from you.

I'll attach one in like 10 minutes after I get home. Don't have a data transfer cable at work.

Any steps I should perform in any specific order before the logcat?

Logcat must be recorded on issue. In your case - start gg.

And send to me file /data/system/appboot/appboot.xml if exists.

Tried opening the app. Then tried doing it again without clearing from app list. then finally cleared from app list, opened gg again and pressed the fix it button.

Same result in all 3 cases. If the alogcat app is producing incorrect logcats, i can compare this with an adb logcat after I get home.
