What cheat? Health, xp, gold...: Modify wood, food, cash and medal amounts.
Have you tried cheating this game? What happened?: I have tried but it wont find any values.
Comments: I'm new to using GG and I dont have a lot of experience with changing values and hacking. I tried searching for the amounts of gold, wood, cash etc but it doesnt come up with anything.

Can someone please help me out, I mainly want to get lots of medals as they are hard to come by. Step by step help would be fantastic.

Have you tried changing you search regions to 'all' or 'more'? I can't test it out right now, but give it a go.
