Try in the store. Values nearby to gold will be the same. 

I just assumed it didn't work in the store because people claimed it doesn't work.

Where you edit the value, you'll see a "more" button, click it.

Go to daily quest , choose one with 2 reward , for eg 50 coins and 20 xp , search 50;20:40 on DWord , now edit and put increasement to 1 , go back to game then open daily quest and see reward , if for exemple coins turn to 70 and xp to 71 , go to search section anf find 70 and 71 , edit to 12345 then complet quest

Your device might not use same memory ranges, might need to figure out which range for this game on your device. Ranges are dependent on device and game. Nor just what game.
