I want to start off by saying that I have searched both this site and google regarding this issue and have seen posts suggesting to use the chainer.lua created by @Enyby or to do a group search using static values. The chainer.lua method either failed or I don't know how to use it properly (I followed the video instructions exactly without success). The group search method does work, but I usually get anywhere from 1 to 500 results depending on the number. I know which value is the one I need, but finding it every time is tedious.
I have been making this post for the past two weeks. Each time I am about to post, I decide against it because I want to figure this out by myself. But alas, I can not. I have a few questions regarding methods and whether or not GameGuardian can do what I require.
1.a:How do I find a value that changes address every time the game edits it? To elaborate, the game sometimes provides an address that has the value, but it is only the visual value (it reverts back when modified by GG) and it does not change addresses. The actual value, once found, can be modified, but switches location once the game changes it. 1.b: Is there a way to find how the game picks the addresses?
2:Is there a way to offset the entire search result list? For some values, I know that 432 address down the value is "10". Initially I do a Q-Word group search (127D;100D;6400000000h;100;0D;1D::21), then I refine it by (100;100::145). After this, I need to long press each one to use the offset calculator to find the one that has "10" with an offset of "1B0". It would be much easier to be able to offset each result, find 10 and then go back up 432 addresses.
I am not very good with making luas yet. All the offset posts I've seen and tried haven't worked for me. I am not sure what code I would need to use to do this.
3: These are probably the most important questions here. I have noticed that of all the values I look for, the string representation 16 addresses up is always the same. Only the string is the same. The address, hex value, and all other values change, but the string remains the same. The question(s):
- Is there a way to show the string representation in the search results, along with the values? This would make finding the one I need so much easier.
- Is there a way to search for the string representation or use it in a group search? Again, would make finding values easier.
- Is there a way to find out what makes the string value since all the other values change?
I have more questions, but this is all I can remember right now. Thank you.
I will add photos, once I post this. They are on my phone.
