Any guides how to mod game apks? Trying to mod Punball

I'm trying to hack Punball to increase the drop rate of items. I assume I'll have to mod it as I wouldn't know where to start when attempting to find the address for item drop rate % on death of a monster.

Is there any tutorials you would recommend on how to mod game apk for games like Punball?
