keyboard wont come up?

Hello all, i have a coolpad Quattro on metropcs running 2.3,phone is rooted and im trying to get doughnuts in Simpsons tapped out. i bring up G.G. to search, hit the search button and it just takes me to the screen where you should be able to type in the number but my keyboard doesnt come up, so i cant type anything in. tried searching all over the web and i can't find out how to make the keyboard come up? Can someone help tired of spending a month just to get to lvl 12

You should try switching it just to check if it's your keyboard.
