I tested GG on vmos and the speedhack is working for me. for regular vmos android 5.1 (not the pro version) that you can download from its website, GG 8.31.0 speedhack works fine. For other GG version for example the latest one, GG 101.3, ticking java 43 in the speedhack: function option seems to fix the problem. this one works on vmos 1.2.3 android 7.1 64 bit (not rooted). you can see my post in general discussion to see more.
